8 JAWS Sharks tee’d off at Gunung Geulis East Course on a bright and sunny Friday morning. With the new toll exit at Bogor Selatan which has direct access to Gunung Geulis, the journey to and from the course has been reduced by 15-20 minutes each way. As always the course was in great condition with their signature greens running slick and very true, and it was the first time our Sharks have played the East Course as the West Course our usual layout. The East Course equally challenging and also includes some unique and dramatic holes on its 18-hole layout.

The Play:
Willie Noronha with his long distance off the tee could afford to leave his Driver in the bag on several holes, relying on his rescue to hit stingers down most the par 4’s into the fairway. With his accurate approach shots and decent putting Admin Willie scored a nett 74 which was enough to secure best nett III on the day. Well played Willie!

Chris Lever continues his solid form, playing to his strengths and general all round solid game: Accurate drives finding fairways and his deadly 5 wood from the fairway which although lying a little far back often gets him on the green or close enough for a chip and a putt. Admin Chris posted a tidy nett 72 which was enough for best nett II on the day. Keep it up Chris, as the JAWS Interleague VC continues to set a good example for his interleague JAWS team members.
Jim Korbilas made it an admin clean sweep of the money and prizes, thanks to his A-game on the day. Finding most fairways and backing up his drives with solid and confident approach shots, GG is to be played from the fairways, any astray drives off the tee will leave very challenging lies in the rough or next to no angle to go for the green. Jim figured this out early and played a solid all round golf game to post a nett 70, 2 strokes under his handicap and winning best nett I on the day. Well played Jim!
Being the first time playing the East Course, the feedback from the players was mostly positive and our sharks would be more then happy to tackle the East Course again at GG in future games.

Congratulations to the Winners:
Best Nett 1: Jim Korbilas / Nett 70
Best Nett 2: Chris Lever / Nett 72
Best Nett 3: Willie Noronha / Nett 74
