28 JAWS players assembled as 14: 2-person scramble teams for the First Round of the 2023 SINGGASANA HOTELS CHARITY LEAGUE 2-PERSON SCRAMBLE at Cengkareng, in support of JAWS ongoing charity: Lestari Sayang Anak (HOME | lestari-sayang-anak (lestarisayanganak.org), a small children’s orphanage in Kemang, South Jakarta, lovingly run by Ingrid Van Der Meek and her team of 5 caregivers. The orphanage currently has 8 orphans, as two have already been adopted by Bu Ingrid herself.
Lestari Sayang Anak has been our chosen charity since our first charity event in 2020 and long may it continue. After the total of Rp. 31,000,000 was raised during 2022 last year from 10 scramble events, its great to get this years charity scrambles up and running again. Ingrid has expressed her gratitude for our continuing support going into this new year of monthly charity events.
Once again thank you to San Miguel Indonesia, for supporting our event, and generously donating the 3 cased of Beer as the winners prizes.
The Play:
The scoring was decent during the 1st edition of the SINGGASANA HOTELS CHARITY LEAGUE 2-PERSON SCRAMBLE 2023, and despite a long period of wet weather, their were plenty of birdies marked on the scorecards. Well done to Cengkareng’s management and Golf course maintenance team for keeping the course in great condition even with all the rain.
Welcome back to: Olivier Merle, Tancrede Lot, Shawn Berg, Robson Drummond, Okkie, Ric Wymer, Antoine Villette and Jens Roestal all playing their first games with JAWS for some time.
A warm welcome to Frank and Anna Wilson back in Jakarta on holiday and joinging us for their first game with JAWS, welcome! We look forward to seeing you both again.
The combination of Anirudh and Roger Finnie, shot a nett 65.5 to bring home Best Nett III, with their games complimenting each other perfectly, combining Anirudh’s ball striking and Roger’s great work around and on the greens.
Fantastic to see Olivier and Tancrede get their case of beers after narrowly missing out on a slab their last scramble due to a scorecard turned in after sunset. The pair posted a Nett 65.5 enough to take Best Nett II. Well deserved Gents!
The round of the day and winning team score belonged to the partnership of JAWS interleague team mates: Bobby Cangkrama and Tarlok Singh. The combination of Bobby’s solid drives amd approach shots and Tarlok’s canny short game, produced plenty of birdies and a winning nett score of: 65.05.
