Gunung Geulis is a stunning course and well worth the effort to get there. 11 JAWS golfers enjoyed pleasant conditions on a very challenging East Course.
A fantastic day out for the 4 oddballs playing together for the first time.
Satya the roaring 4 handicapper , Praying Parman(U) the requesting for increasing handicap nuclear bomb, Taufik H, the ex-colonel, who still commands respect for his precise game at a 10 handicap and Divya with his whining shoulder aches and old age pains at 11 handicap.
The group could not have possibly had more fun with laughter and squeals going all around on each hole to a point where on one hole Parman and Divya literally fell down laughing and coughing.
Satya started strong,but his game went downhill from there, apart from 2 pars, he generally didn’t play up to his high standards.
Parman started with a penalty and it was all uphill from that point with the odd blow out on a par 5. Taufik and Divya played steady golf and tried to tame the East Course but failed miserably on the glass like greens.
All in all, each of them made new friendships (within the 18 holes of hell – laughing and crying) that they will cherish and grow for times to come.
Laurie, Chris, Agus and Yudhi played together and started on hole 12.
Generally the group found the course very unforgiving at times. Yudhi started well with a par but then made a triple on the next par 5 hole and this inconsistency continued throughout the round.
Agus, who is still learning, found the course tough but he persisted and managed some very good drives.
Laurie also managed some great drives and made several pars. A few blowout holes though cost him.
Chris played well and made 6 pars and a birdie on hole 8. Too many 3 putts and a crazy 9 on hole 7 made his score higher than it should have been.
Good fun and a chance to play on a very challenging course off the blue tees.
Anwar, Jim and Faud played together in the same flight. Anwar managed 6 pars and a birdie on hole 7 but struggled with his putting and had too many 3 putts to challenge the leaders today. Fuad had some good pars and lots of bogeys.
Again he also found the greens very difficult on this occasion. Meanwhile Jim mostly played bogey golf with the odd par but ended up in shared 2nd place overall. Well done to all players, I am sure we will see better scores next time !

The toughness of course was reflected in the high scores today. First place went to Chris with a Net 78 and 2nd place was shared by Laurie, Divya and Jim with Net 80.
