4 flights and 14 Sharks played on a glorious, sunny Friday afternoon, a welcome change from the wet and windy weather that we have experienced the last few weeks. The Golden sunshine casting a bright light over the special occasion on the day: the 2021 via.com Grand Final match between Hari Tian and Chris Lever.

Hari Tian displayed his ruthless form which has led him to this years final: bombing drives long and straight and backing up his length with a fine touch around the greens along with clutch putting: a real handful for everyone. Chris put up his best fight, but did not bring his A-game on the day, to compete with an in form Hari Tian. Congratulations Hari Tain: The 2021 via.com Matchplay Champion, well deserved sir!

Cengkareng continues to be a JAWS firm favourite on the playing schedule, and with its lively Mulligan’s Bar, Great Service, long may it continue… as we look forward to our next visit there already.

A big thank you from Match-play chief Chris Lever for all the 54 contestants who competed in this years via.com JAWS matchplay which has witnessed all kinds of drama: including the first JAWS Albatross back on 4th June at Emeralda.

Looking forward to the 2022 Matchplay already which will feature a new format of: 1st Round, Groups using a Round Robin format, followed by elimination rounds from Round 2 onwards. For all the low/ single handicaps we also have some good news for you, we will be adopting the 75% handicap differential policy when accessing handicap differences.
