JAWS Christmas Party at Modern Golf & Country Club

38 JAWS players assembled on the day before Christmas, creating 19 teams in a fun and friendly ‘blind’ scramble event, pairing players with random players (picked out the hat) combining scores in a Best Nett Format.

Despite a log jam of players all forming an orderly queue on both holes 1 & 10, the little wait did not spoil the fun as the wait allowed players to catch up, introduce themselves and watch their fellow Sharks hit off from the 1^st tee (Hole #10). Thanks for your patience Sharks! After the delay the flights ahead progressed at a good clip and all flights were in the clubhouse for our San Miguel Beers after the game well under 5 hours. Thanks to the groups out front for keeping a good pace of play.

A big thank you to Om Widy and his gang for joining forces bulking up the roster and pot for the day much to the enjoyment of all players involved. Well done to the several players who made the effort in true Christmas spirit wearing Christmas themed clothing, its always fun to bring more colour to this beautiful game for both yourself and your playing partners. Diana Budiarti once again proving that women just do ‘dressing up’ best, arriving to the course with Reindeer Antlers, very cute and Christmas-y.

Clearly the tropical cyclone that blew through Tangerang the previous day left the course a tad worse for wear as many trees had blown over and much of the course was damp and sodden. The tougher course conditions provided challenging playing conditions with only 1 team of the 19 competing shooting an aggregate 72 per player, well played the winning duo of Olivier Merle and Hari Tian, impressive golf considering the conditions.

Players enjoyed the beers and it was a great start to Christmas celebrations the following evening! And the winning teams had a bit of extra pocket money for there last minute Christmas shopping on the way home.
