24 JAWS players assembled on the last day of 2021 to finish of the year in style: playing golf, making birdies and having fun!
The JAWS Admin team would like to take the opportunity to thank all players for their participation, attendance and good spirits over the last 12 months. In the second year of the global pandemic with so much uncertainty in the media and concerning news its always good to have a positive activity to focus on and enjoy… like a game of golf!
The last few weeks has seen some very wet weather blow into the Jakarta and Bogor areas, and the overcast and humid early morning conditions soon opened up to welcome glorious sunshine and blue skies from about the 6th hole onwards. As the sun got higher and the temperature warmer the damp greens started to firm up and the rock was rolling much better on the greens.
The relatively high winning scores on the day; suggests the conditions of the course were indeed playing tough: with Best Net I & II only a couple of strokes below par…. Unusual as previously JAWS games has seen scores as low as 63-64 nett as the winning scores.
The ‘Easy Swinging’ Bob Subash brought his A-game and used his languid swing to good use, keeping the ball in play and making putts to post an impressive nett 70 to take Best Nett 1. Sari Smith returns and has clearly been working on her game between the scenes also posting a nett 70 to share Best Nett honours with one other lady player: Mega Chandra making the most of the red tees and course often enjoyed by Ladies players. Keep it up into the new year Ladies!
Admin and JAWS MP Captain: Simon, was pleased to find some form posting a 76 gross, which included 3 birdies on the card and some solid driver and iron-play. A warm welcome to Trie, another member of our large ladies gathering on the day doing her fellow ladies playing partners proud sharing best nett II also with a nett 70.
A huge thanks to the Cengkareng MANAGEMENT who like always provided stellar service and golfing conditions. Golfers on the day were kept to a reasonable number and for the Friday before NY, it’s certainly impressive to finish playing rounds in 4hrs and 30 mins, well done!
Once again, to all JAWS players many thanks for all your efforts and good spirits over the past year or two…. we can’t wait to catch up and get golfing again in the New Year!
