27 JAWS Sharks were bright and early for the morning session (first 18 holes) at 7am for the regular JAWS Best Nett game. With the long idul fitri holidays drawing to a close there was a large queue of golfers waiting to tee off from Holes 1 & 10. With concerns whether we would be back at the clubhouse by lunch time, kudos to all players and the Golf Ops team as the play got moving fast after tee off with all morning flights finishing within 4 hours and 30 mins in time to enjoy the lunch buffet generously provided by di3.ai, which was well recieved and necessary fuel to power us players into and through the afternoon session.
The Play:
A warm welcome to new players and first timers Dion Budiono and Jaeseok Yang, you both picked a great game to join JAWS and we look forward to seeing you in future events!
Perhaps with the afternoon 2-ball team games in mind several players were somewhat out of form in the morning session, saving their energy and birdies for the afternoon play perhaps?
A welcome back to Richard Mau, who we have not seen at a JAWS game for sometime, got low gross with a gross 81, well played sir. Jeremy Oberoi shot the round of the day with a gross 79, and nett 67, for Best Nett I, a very impressive score! Some Golfers dream of breaking 80… keep it up JJ!
Will Adrian playing a one off game outside of the Bogor/Sentul region posted a solid nett 69 showing that its not just up in the mountains that he plays good golf. Max, made the most of his practice round the day beforehand to shot 2 under handicap and take Best Nett III.
Akhil Aggrawal continues his steady improvement with a gross 91 and nett 70 to take best nett IV on countback, a couple of close putts denied him a sub-90 round, his next milestone to achieve as a 21 handicap. Adrian Sughandi with his high standards and Miura Blades was almost embarassed to take Best Nett V with a nett 73, nontheless a Gross 85 for a 12 handicap is a decent score.

The Afternoon Session: 1pm onwards……
2-Ball Scramble and Alternate Shot Format
The Play:
After a good feed, refreshments and a change of shirt our players head out in the afternoon sun for the 2-ball scramble and alternate shot competition. Holes 1-9 would host the scramble and Holes 10-18 hosting the alternate shot. Afterwards it was clear; alternate shot was the harder format with some high scores being recorded in comparison to the scramble holes.
Kudos to Jeremy and TPS who put together a fantastic scorecard recording all the stats and scores for the afternoon loop and their were added skills prizes for most fairways hit and most greens in regulation as well as least fairways and least GIR’s to contend for amongst the Best Nett Team Prizes.
His Excellency Sayyid Nazar Al-Said (Ambassador of Oman) and His Excellency Shri Manoj K. Bharti (Ambassador of India) were the VIP guests who also joined for the 2-Ball afternoon team games, they also presented the winning trophies to the winning teams after the game. Well done to all players who completed all 36 holes or just 18, on a very hot day, your spirit and enthusiasm was all great to see.
