JAWS @ PJ 17.10.22

JAWS at Pangkalan Jati

8 JAWS Sharks tee’d it up at Pangkalan Jati aka ‘PJ’ for the JAWS Tuesday am social golf game. This navy owned military course is known for its wacky layout: and its love and hate relationship amongst the golfers of Jakarta.  Play it bold, and be sure with your shot placemets, otherwise this canny course will punish any sign of uncertainty.

The Play:

Generally an out of whack day as the course ‘PJ’ played tough with wet and soden conditions after all the heavy rain the last week or so, plus a cloudy sky and overcast conditions on the day. With only some greens running true as several were going through some renovations.

PJ is going through ‘changes’ with a lot of construction ‘on-going’ like the sky bridge and the new clubhouse all in progress, as well as the new parking area …. Despite all the distractions the course is and always be tricky.

Velma was in form and attacked the course with vengeance with the course attacking her back on one hole where she lost 2 balls and made a 7, Hitoshi-san was at his best but long drives can be dangerous and so was an uphill task for him and Divya on many holes. Vijay was being Vijay and would shine brilliantly on a few holes and others miss out. Up and Down.

The second flight also had an eventful round with some very high scores recorded and on one par 3 hole a stray ball was hit onto the adjacent tee box. … but to the golfer’s credit, a splendid recovery was made.

All in all, a good morning of social golfing!
