A small but select group of players played at Modern Golf Club. The course was quiet and in good condition which allowed the 6 golfers to finish in good time.
A fun day for this flight of fighters, Tralok , Aidan and Divya.
Tralok started off strong and steady and continued his class throughout the round with 9 pars and a birdie.
His only slip up was on hole 7 with a triple, but he finished with an excellent 82 Gross.
Aidan (with a bum ligament strain) still managed to produce some booming drives and precise iron shots.
He shot a Gross 83, 3 below his handicap and was the overall winner. Well done Aidan- pleasure to watch!
Divya enjoyed his round with the usual par, bogie round and the odd double bogie and was just 3 above his handicap. All in all, a fantastic day out with great weather and 18 holes done in 3 hours 10 minutes for this group.
Three young energetic golfers played together, consisting of Laurie, Chris and Jim. Jim didn’t start well, driving to the left and finding himself in trouble but gradually improved and finished strongly with a Gross 43 on the back 9.
Laurie played close to his handicap and made some excellent pars. A few triples cost him the chance to challenge the winner but he still managed Net 73 to take second place overall.
Chris played well but his score did not reflect this. His long game was good but he managed to go into too many bunkers which cost him so many shots. Overall a fun round of golf for the ‘Young Boys!’
Because it was a small group, we just went for first and second today. Congratulations to the winners today. Well done Aidan who took first place with a Net 69. Laurie finished second with a Net 73.
