A large turn out of 21 players enjoyed the scenic views of Sentul Highlands Golf course. The course was in good condition and the golfers enjoyed a Friday afternoon’s golf game in warm conditions.

What happens when (3 Punjabis and one South Indian) 4 Indian golfers play in a flight ?

Chaos , magic , screaming, negotiation , testosterone , and a memorable round of golf.

Indar was hitting booming drives and showed excellent class with a birdie , TPS ,quiet yet deadly, was hitting it amazingly well and with some deadly iron game got everyone jealous.

Gaurav went from hot to cold to burning hot, hitting his 3 wood an average 230 meters with a red hot putter and finally Divya played consistent golf fairway to green with the odd double bogey.

All in all a great fun round.

Both Emil and Chris started as though they had been hypnotised with both players playing like beginners and making doubles and triples on the first 4 holes.

Maybe this had something to do with starting on hole 13 or maybe due to the previous night’s alcoholic beverage consumptions. Chris eventually broke this spell and started to play consistently with pars and bogeys for the rest of the round.

Emil continued with an inconsistent round despite making two birdies and finishing with a Gross 94. Will showed early promise and was driving well but was let down by his short game at times but could score well in the future. Most importantly the group had fun despite some erratic golf.

Fitrat, (Fitrat means Spirit in Hindi ) ,who hadn’t played in 5 months started off from the 10th tee and lived up to his name with a spirited round of golf and with an impressive Gross 80 score ; not bad considering his 5 months off the golf course. Taufik,

‘The Air Force Man’, clearly knows a lot about ‘flight’ , and his golf balls flew beautifully to record a strong round of 84.

Shuichi was playing his first round with JAWS and played with a smile. The man from Japan, was a bit rusty with his game but can only improve. Vinay enjoyed the surrounding countryside and played an average game but there are signs that his game is slowly improving.

Another ‘Airforce Man’ playing with JAWS for the first time was Aldi. He started off with a double bogey on the par 5, 11th hole but then made 3 pars and a birdie on the first 9. He continued the second 9 on fire, with 3 birdies and a magical chip in birdie from the bunker on hole 4 to record a great 81 Gross score.

Parman had another super round after his great 66 at Senayan he played Net 68 to finish in joint 2nd place overall.

His round included a birdie on the 13th hole and lots of solid pars. Randy played with a smile but unfortunately he could not get his golfing skills together and had only 2 pars in his round.

The putter wasn’t working too and too many bogeys added to a below par performance.

First Flight starting on Hole 12, was Audie, Mars and Simon. Clearly excited about playing a Friday afternoon round, Audie stuck his 5 iron to 6 feet on the opening Par 3 and knocked in his birdie putt with ease, the standard was too tough to keep up for 18 holes.

Mars was super steady all day and comfortably played to his handicap. A couple of uncharacteristic wild drives towards the end of the round kept him out of the money, but nonetheless many positives including great putting all day.

Simon started steady inspired by Audie’s opening birdie including a string of pars and was inches short of two chip-in birdies from off the greens, and very nearly an eagle from a greenside bunker on the Par 5 Hole #3. Nonetheless a Net 72 with a Gross 78 was solid, and if it wasn’t for a moment of madness and a triple bogey on a par 5 may have made some money.

Tarlok, Akmal, Sam and Jim played together and this group produced first and second place. Much improved play from Sam saw him take first place overall with a Net 67.

His golfing highlights were some booming drives and consistent all round play.

Jim had a much improved game too. He shot 68 Net and took second place overall.Tarlok continues to play well but his handicap mark is proving tough at the moment.

Akmal had a good game and was close to his handicap with a Net 73.
Thanks to everyone for making it a fun day of golf and thank you to Mba Sarlis and the team at Sentul Highlands for taking such good care of JAWS.

The money winners were : Sam who won overall with a Net 67 and sharing 2nd place were Parman and Jim with Net 68.
