A small but merry band of 7 players played at Modern Golf Course on a warm sunny Tuesday morning. The course was a little damp in places but generally in good condition.
Chris, Willi G and Ruth played together and made it round in less than 4 hours. Willi got off to a great start with a par and played par bogey for most of his round apart from a double par on the 12th hole.
He however made up for this with two birdies.
Ruth played mostly bogey, and double bogey golf but did manage a par on the par 3 ,17th hole.
Chris played consistently and played mostly par, bogey golf with the odd triple and just 3 above his handicap.
Arif, Sari, Tarlok and Jim played in the same flight. Arif was playing his first game with JAWS and made a big impact by winning overall.
He shot long straight drives all day and recorded 41 on the back 9. Sari played some great shots off the tee but like many golfers at Modern, found the bunkers difficult.
Tarlok once again showed that he is a very good golfer with a Gross 84 and played consistently throughout his round especially with his irons and putting.
Jim’s highlight was a birdie on the 15th but he is not playing his best golf at the moment due to experimenting with his grip.
Congratulations to the winners today. In first place was Arif with a Net 68 and in joint 2nd place Chris and Willi G with Net 75.
