A heavy downpour at Imperial GC early on didn’t deter the 6 JAWS golfers and they were soon rewarded with good weather prevailing for the round of golf and perfect conditions on the course.
The group decided to play a 6 ball game with Divya, Parman and Sari in one team against Tarlok, Ruth and Chris.
Tarlok got off to a flyer and his form continued with 7 pars and 2 bogeys on the front 9, scoring just 2 over par. He continued to play well on the back nine but had a few bad holes. Nevertheless a fine round of Gross 83.
Not far behind was Divya. Divya drove well all day and made some great putts and chips and made a birdie on hole 16. He played Gross 84 , just 1 above his handicap.
The rest of the group were inconsistent. Sari was good off the tee and made several bogeys but too many triples. The same can be said of Ruth who played well in patches such as a birdie on hole 7 and a par on hole 4 but then made too many triples.
Parman made 5 pars and generally drove well but had a few bad holes and it was not his day but he is sure to play better in the future.
Chris played steady golf, nothing spectacular but was let down by his short game especially his normally reliable putter.
Some good banter and fun throughout the round. And the winners were Tarlok, Ruth and Chris who combined best as a team.
