With scenic layouts and picturesque gardens, Bogor Raya Golf Course provided a perfect setting. The course was in good condition and fine weather prevailed for the 13 golfers .
“Bogor Raya” can be loosely translated into English as “death by sand”. While Ronald utilized his home field advantage to stay clear of the bunkers, John and Pras had enough sand in their shoes at the end of the day to build a sandcastle.
Pras started the day just missing a birdie hitting the pin with an incredible 20 foot pitch the hit the pin then knocking in two birdie chips from 30 and 50 feet out. Ronald hit consistently all day with beautiful recovery shots wherever he found trouble. John struggled off the tee but found some good putts to keep him in the game. A fantastic day at a beautiful course with just enough rain to cool things down.
Laurie enjoyed the company of Bobby and Gaurav. Bobby and Gaurav were playing a second matchplay and Laurie witnessed this epic battle. Gaurav outlasted Bobby with a great round of 77 off the stick. Well fought Bobby and good luck to Gaurav in the next round. Laurie started steady then parred the next, only to self -destruct on the tricky par five next to end his round and challenge.
Randy and Parman played a practise round against Divya and Srinivas in preparation for the real event on Saturday against the DOGS. On the first nine holes, Randy shot an impressive 38 Gross and made birdie on hole 7. Parman and Divya also made a birdie on hole #6 and #8. Parman played well and finished in second place overall whilst Divya played well on the front nine but then disappointed on the back nine. Srinivas, at the start of the game, had a little trouble with the driver, but soon got into gear and played well on the front nine but found the back nine more challenging.
Ade, Febian and Westra played together. Westra played a consistent game with a Gross 42 and Gross 43. Ade also played well with Gross 45 and 44 and played mostly par, bogey golf. Febian played 6 above his handicap and made some good pars. A fun round for the three players!
