With dark clouds above and rumbling thunder the 24 golfers were spared by the ‘Golfing Gods’ and enjoyed the cool conditions on the challenging Permata Sentul Golf Course.

Hari Taufik, Willi G, Fernando and Randy played together and started on hole #3.

Harry Taufik and Willi were playing the Match Play Final. With tensions high, Hari T started with Par on the first two holes and went 2 up.

Willi finally found his rhythm and was back to all-square on hole 8. The game was close all the way to the last two holes where Hari T forged ahead and became Sharks Matchplay Champion.

Meanwhile Randy played his normal consistent game and made two birdies on holes 7 and almost made an eagle on hole 3 but had to settle for a birdie.

Fernando made a birdie on hole 13 but generally struggled with his driving and was slicing the ball.

Forget the Backstreet Boys. It was the Bon Jovi Boys that attacked Permata Sentul on a cloudy wet Friday.

With the music cranking, Paulus, Parman, Joshua and John all had moments of victory and defeat. All four were relatively consistent off the tee. Joshua has some amazing drives and his iron work was consistent all day.

Paulus crushed the ball off the tee and looked professional on 16 with an easy tap in birdie. The PAR-MAN lived to his name with some beautiful par putts particularly on the back nine. While consistent off the tee, John had trouble managing the greens with the exception of a long birdie putt on the 15th hole. A great group, great music and a great way to finish up a Friday. Always!

Flight 5 consisted of Agus, Iwan Nanda and Ivans. The first par in the group was made by Iwan and the first birdie was by Nanda. Ivans made some long drives and Agus made some good bogies. Both Agus and Ivans shot 5 above their handicaps whilst Iwan and Nanda played for their handicaps. Lots of laughs and jokes all day!.

The International group of Chris, Supachai, Audie and Kamal played in the same flight and had a fun round of golf. ‘Leave the past, where it belongs.’

Wise words from Buddha and that is how Chris played after some high scores recently he left his high scoring behind today to play 6 below his handicap including seven pars and a birdie.

Supachai, representing Thailand, played very well today and shot a Gross 85. Despite two doubles on the first two holes, he then played mostly par, bogie golf with a birdie on hole 13 and would have scored even lower if he had made more putts.

Kamal, representing Algeria, had a shaky start with 2 triples but then started to find his form with some very long drives.

He generally improved and scored a Gross 43 on the back nine. Audie, representing Indonesia, arrived a little late but soon got into his rhythm and made a par on hole 5. He then mostly played bogey golf with a few triples.

Great day out with Tarlok , Marvin , Yuris and Divya in the same flight. Everyone started slow with double bogies or bogies on the first hole and then Tarlok picked up the pace with the one odd birdie.

Yuris had trouble with his second shots and the rescue needs some driving range work but his putting saved the day and was working well.

Jolly Tarlok chugged along despite his early birdie but then had a few blow out holes, a big rarity for the 10 handicapper.

However, what was great to see was his chipping and putting; as sharp as ever. Marvin and Divya played up and down steady and rough golf and stayed amongst the bogies , pars and the double bogies.

A great day out with Europe like weather and not a drop of rain as feared by some.
The last flight consisted of Yudi, Fuad, Rizky and Fitrat.

Most players in the group played well. Fuad and Rizky both had a Net 68 to be joint second overall.

Yudi was just two over his handicap but Fitrat had an off day and will hope to play better next time. Cool conditions and a fun game of golf.
Congratulations to the winners
