Participant Details/ Who can join – This JAWS event is an open event , open to all and any golfer, from any and every society, as long as they are able to produce a verifiable USCA HC either from their Golf Club or their Golf Society or from Golf Apps like Grint or mygolf2u or any other such golf handicap application.
Tee Time – 12 noon but for golfers that will be praying tee off will be 12.30 pm
Entry Fee – Rp 950,000/- per golfer, this amount includes- 1 round of Golf , Dinner, a Golf T-Shirt , Goody bag and participation in the Lucky Draw on the day

The name “Riverside” implies something on the side of a river.
On Tuesday morning it also meant in the river, across the river or lost somewhere around the river for many of the 29 Sharks braving the course.
This was the first JAWS gathering at Riverside and the golf gods rewarded the eight flights with mostly good weather and net scores ranging from 68 to 90.
A big thanks to Mba Shinta and full Riverside team for taking such good care of us and to all the Sharks who made it out for the first of many rounds at this beautiful course.
Pras, Randy, Parman and Tarlok played in the same flight.
While everyone hoped for a great round of golf, the tricky course layout and uneven green speeds cost substantial damage to three out of four players in the group. Tarlok was having a beautiful day on the course.
Even though he is the eldest in the flight, goes to show what he lacked in power he more than makes up for it in experience and accuracy. Tarlok finished with best score of all the Sharks with a nett 68.
Randy had a not so good round. A lot of his tee shots were either short or sliced out of the fairway. His putting was still as strong as ever, so that was a silver lining in the proverbial cloudy day. Randy finished with a nett score of 79. Pras’ round was a little bit worse than Randy’s. Most of his shots landed just a little but out of the good spots for second and third shots. The greens were also not kind to Pras and costed him a handful of 3 putts in the round. He finished with only one par and a nett score of 83. Parman’s luck seemed the worst on this day.
He was more than willing to take the risky shots anytime the opportunity presented itself. Unfortunately Riverside’s layout is very high risk – high reward, and when one miss hits the golf ball, that ball is going to the water or out of bounds. Parman finished the round with a nett score of 85.
Teeing off second flight off Hole 10 were: Aleksi, Gaurav, Bob Advani and Simon. With three big hitters in the flight they were expecting some cracking drives and fireworks. Aleksi well stocked up with bright yellow Srixon Balls, cracked one right onto the opposite fairway on the first drive.
A visit to a Golf Professional would not be a bad idea as he continued to struggle to find the centre and straight face of the club on his long game, donating numerous balls into the Riverside jungle. All his not lost… as his short game showed promise with soft hands and deft touch around the greens.
Gaurav also had a bad day at the office, one too many equipment changes suggests that a return to his old setup of equipment: “if it aint broke don’t fix it!” With a player this talented we all know his game will be back in no time, nonetheless a sharp golf outfit for the round rewarded him with the best dressed award!
Big Bob brought his A-game, and put together a solid 18 holes to score a nett 73, Best Nett 4 and some lunch money. His slow, smooth and languid swing was a joy to watch and makes the game look easy at times.
Although not long off the tee Bob forever keeps the ball in play and with a sharp short game and solid putting stroke it’s not surprising he has become a regular on the Jaws Leaderboard. Well played Bob! Simon, the fourth ball in the flight got off to a shaky start, with some mishits off the tee putting him in a spot of bother too often. Luckily a cool head and careful shot selection turned many double bogey’s into bogey’s and several bogey’s into pars. He has clearly been working on his short game as chips on hole 9 and 17 lipped out for birdie and impressive par saves. Inconsistency off the tee cost him some lunch money, but his short game was on point demonstrating solid technique and creativity around the green. A monster drive on the last tee earnt him a can of San Miguel from his playing partner and a some positive vibes going into the clubhouse.
The Second group off the 10th hole was Jude, Jens, Jim and a new comer Chee. The front nine belong to Jens with a 38.
Jude’s driver and 3 wood were the highlight of his game but struggled around the greens. In general a well-rounded game.
Chee for his second round with JAWS showed a lot of potential. He is a hard hitting golfer and will definitely be in the money soon Jim showed us that although one can score well in tough situations like a 4 club tournament It doesn’t mean you can play with all your clubs.
Despite perfect playing conditions and a course in good condition, the three players, Geoff, William and Chris had a tough scoring day on the course.
Geoff hit some great drives and was able to make a birdie but too many triples and doubles inflated his score. William was inconsistent as well despite some great iron shots and some long drives.
The highlight for Chris were some one-putts and 5 pars but bad decision making cost him on several holes. Still fun day playing golf on a challenging course.
“Waiting is the Hardest Part” was the tune sung by Hari, Divya and Willi. All three were playing well in the beginning but after a long wait, the mood was gone as was the level of play.
Seeing Divya’s 9 Iron hit 140M was really terrifying. Willi was consistent with his driver until the wait ruined everything.
Hari was playing well with only 2 over for 6 holes and all of a sudden Divya asked him for his hcp index, he then tried to play safe to keep up the good score, but it was a boomerang and he went on playing badly, the next hole he hit 3 over par.
Before the game ended, Divya was completely out of it, scoring doubles and triples for a really tired and frustrated finish.
For Firat, Iris, Ola and John it was a scene out of the “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.”
Firat, the low handicapper that he is, found plenty of beautiful shots and an array of pars but a few ugly holes on the back nine kept him out of the race.
Iris was the good, the good and the good. As always, she started off solid but then went on fire hitting a 38 on the back nine and the number 2 spot on the JAWS Leaderboard.
Ola found lots of ugly but also brilliance including a birdie on the 12th hole and the 5-spot on the JAWS Leaderboard. John started out with the good hitting consistently well on the front nine and then a switch flipped and it turned to uber ugly on the back nine. A great group and a fun day all in all.
William, Bobby and Punjung all found the rivers of Riverside troubling. William found some bogies and a par but also some trouble holes on the back nine.
Bobby hit an impressive seven pars but too many doubles and a double par on the 2nd hole kept him out of contention.
Unlike Bobby, Punjung whacked in a birdie on the second hole and a par on the 15th. He stayed consistent most of the day.

This years format remains same as last year with only 1 change, to participate in the 2021 VIA.COM JAWS MATCHPLAY FOR SHARK OF THE YEAR the one time participation fees will be IDR 250,000 as this allows us to include a JAWS custom made Match Play T-shirt for the players participating in the MatchPlay.
This custom made JAWS T-shirt will not be available to any other JAWS players except the VIA.COM JAWS MATCHPLAY participants for 2021.

SINGGASANA JAWS WORLD CUP 2021 FIRST ROUND FEBRUARY 5TH , SENTUL HIGHLANDS
The JAWS WORLD CUP will be an annual competition between a JAWS team from Asia Vs a JAWS team from Rest of the World.
1ST MATCH – FORMAT SINGLES– 20 players a side , In singles, each match features one player from each team. The player with the lower score on each hole wins that hole. If their scores are tied, the hole is halved.
The competition will be contested every quarter and with a total of 4 rounds (one played every quarter) at the same venue with the format inspired from the Ryder Cup format of Four ball , Foursomes and Singles matches.
ROUNDS TO PLAY
February 5th 2021 – singles matches – 20 players a side – two points per match
April 9th 2021- foursome matches – 20 players a side – two points each per match
August 6th 2021– four ball matches 20 players a side- two points each per match
November 12th 2021- singles matches – 20 players a side – two points each per match & JAWS WORLD CUP team crowned
May the best team of Sharks win !! , the race to 61 points in on !!!

It is VITAL that at the end of a round that all scorecards are checked by at least 2 people in the group.

Over the last few rounds there has been some chatter over the Rules of Golf and Golf etiquettes
Golf is a game for ladies and gentleman, so when one goes for a round of golf be it: social or tournament golf one is required to behave as a lady or a gentleman and abide by golfing etiquette.
Yes, JAWS is a golf society promoting camaraderie and fun on the course but abiding by our societies rules of etiquette we can assure you of a much better and valuable golfing experience for your playing partners and yourself.
Not only must we uphold our reputation as a society at golf courses, don’t forget to value your own reputation as a golfer on and off the golf course, after all… we are all gentlemen and ladies who choose to play a ladies and gentlemen’s game.
