5 flights and 20 players… not a bad turnout for a Tuesday 8am tee time. No doubt Cengkareng has become the JAWS’ favourite course… always attracting a large number of Sharks onto its fairways. With the rainy season in full flow a game close to the ocean offers added protection from a washout as the sea breeze will often blow the rain clouds South and inland.
The chirpy gang of Tuesday morning JAWS golfers were rewarded with a morning of blue skies and sunshine and as always and expected at Cengkareng these days… a golf course in great condition all round.
Welcome back to Divya Ahuja after his adventures in the Middle East, Albert Santos, Yasin and Kholifan after many weeks away, it’s always great to see some familiar faces in good health and spirits. Judging by the scores with many players shooting nett par or better the standards were set high with several players in fine form and birdies aplenty.
The scores were red hot, with Nett 69 only good enough for Best Nett IV, secured by Divya, Albert and Shawn Berg. Clearly the long break from golfing, or was it a secret golf camp in the Bahamas? may not be a bad thing and Shawn Berg was chuffed to regain some form going into the Christmas period.
A solid round and Nett 68, for Akhil and Jeremy Oberoi playing on his home course put together a fine round with a Nett 67, only one stroke shy of breaking 80.
The round of the day goes to Srinivas Murthy, bringing back fine form from the JAWS Bali Golf Trip shooting his best round ever, shooting a gross 78 and scintillating nett 63 and a round to remember. Great round Srinivas well deserved!
