Connect Energy Charity League Round #5: 08.07.22 @ Cengkareng

28JAWS players assembled as 14: 2-player teams for the fifth round of the JAWS CONNECT ENERGY CHARITY LEAGUE 2-PLAYER SCRAMBLE of 2022 at Cengkareng last Friday for the noon onwards tee off, in support of JAWS ongoing charity: Lestari Sayang Anak (HOME | lestari-sayang-anak (, a small children’s orphanage in Kemang, South Jakarta, lovingly run by Ingrid Van Der Meek and her team of 5 caregivers.

Lestari Sayang Anak has been our chosen charity since our first charity event in 2020 and it gives us great satisfaction to continue to offer our societies charitable donations as support for this great cause. So far to date after 5 events in 2022 we have raised Rp. 16,000,000, and Ingrid reports she is very grateful for the ongoing support and is putting the donations to good use.

The Play:

Hot weather on the day, produced some hot scoring all round amongst the JAWS players. With 14 teams out on course, the 11th placed team scored Nett 66, which in previous rounds would have placed 2-3rd Place. Some great golfing out there Sharks! Will we see a 59 nett in Round 6?

Special mention to the team at Cengkareng as always, with a course in great condition, with plenty of roll on the fairway’s and the greens running firm and true. Perfect, for a scramble, hence the multitude of birdies and a lone eagle, on his first hole and second shot of the day from Gaurav.

Fernando and David were the dream team this Friday, posting an impressive 68, 4 under, to record a sub 62 nett score, very well played gents. Solid Drives, attacking pins and sinking putts, a winning formula thus worthy winners!

Sarah Brown and Stephanie had great chemistry and had great fun all round, proving that generally people play much better when they are having fun. Chatting all the way around in their golf buggy, they turned it on and performed when it mattered, with Stephanie draining a 20 ft birdie on the 18th to post a Gross 70, nett 62.35, to take second place.

Despite having no more room in his refridgerator at home for any more San Miguel beers, Gaurav got his round off to the perfect start with the eagle on their first hole! Teaming up with local course member Willie Noronha and using his course knowledge to great effect posting a gross 68 and nett 63.75. With Willie also being tee total, 24 cans was a welcome addition to Gaurav’s beer stash at home, and we await the invitation for the next Golf/House party at Kedaton. Well played Gents.

Once again, thanks again to San Miguel Indonesia for supporting the JAWS Connect Energy Charity League events this Friday.
