19 JAWS Sharks tee’d it up at Sedayu Indo Golf, Jakarta’s and Indonesia’s newest and hottest golfing property, located on Golf Island in PIK. With the strong ocean breeze, tight fairways and slick greens its a challenging layout, but the management have implemented some drastic changes to make the 18 hole experience far more enjoyable for amateur and social golfers: buggy’s on fairways, trimming of rough, a couple of examples which have also improved the pace of play and made it a lot more fun to play.
With 19 JAWS players teeing it up on a Tuesday morning, it has become a favourite amongst our avid weekday golfers in JAWS.
A warm welcome to newcomers Keith Gorman, Prannoy Agarwala and Asian Tour Professional from Malaysia Nicholas Fung, who is in town for a few pro events, and tee’d it up from the black tees with JAWS single handicapper Gaurav Shirke. A real honor to have you join Nicholas you are always welcome to join us for future games and thanks for giving some of your time to join us for a game, the players loved the experience to see an Asian Tour winner up close playing golf.
The Play:
Was it the weather, the buggy’s on fairway’s, or the Nicholas Fung factor??? Like the weather the scoring got really hot with just short of 50% of the players shooting their handicap or better!
Divya Ahuja found his A-Game scoring a remarkable 77 gross, posting +5 with 2 birdies on the card for a 65 nett, a fantastic score on this challenging layout!
Emil Marcelo was dancing down the fairways posting a solid 80 gross, nett 68, four strokes below handicap. Great play Emil!
Welcome back to Pak Widyanto, absent for sometime, but clearly keeping his game in check posting a nett 69 to take home Best Nett 3! Hope to see you soon Pak.
A handful of our regular Sharks, were nipping away at the fins of the winners all posting nett 70’s to take home best nett 4th tied: Fernando, Willi G, Willy N and our young bomber Aidan Lopon. Solid golfing gentlemen.
The players enjoyed some apres golf banter on the clubhouse balcony, with some great food and drinks in one of the best clubhouses in Indonesia… and we are looking forward to our next visit already.
