Lestari Sayang Anak has been our chosen charity since our first charity event in 2020 and it gives us great satisfaction to continue to offer our societies charitable donations as support for this great cause. So far to date after 6 events in 2022 we have raised Rp. 19,700,000 and Ingrid reports she is very grateful for the ongoing support and is putting the donations to good use. Watch this space for more info and news in the coming weeks from Ingrid and her team at the orphanage reporting back with great thanks and gratitude from our generous support from these events.

The Play:

A colorful entourage of JAWS golfers tee’d off at noon, with several Sharks wearing their new 2022 JAWS Shirts, looking the part walking down the fairways. Being the 6th edition of the Charity Scramble this calendar year, the event is becoming a legendary event with the chance of walking away with 24 cans of beer quite simply the best way to kick start any ones weekend!

After the hot scoring in round 5 in July, the 6th editions scoring showed no signs of cooling down, with a few teams remaining unchanged and several players re-shuffling the team pairings in an attempt to get their hands on these highly sought after beer cans. The lucrative pair of Fernando and David were one of the favorites to place in the top 3 and to re-stock their beer stash and the return of Divya Ahuja re-united with Gaurav were sure to contest and contest they did.

A late withdrawal from Stephanie’s partner left her scratching her head for a suitable replacement, she found a more then capable sub in 3 handicapper and Gading Raya Club Champion: Pak Lok Budianto. Like the previous edition, this pair went on a birdie train shooting 66 gross to take best nett 1 despite holding the second lowest team handicap of the day. Well played you two. Very impressive teamwork and golfing!

The old saying: ‘If it ain’t broke don’t fix it applies to Fernando and David.’ This partnership and team chemistry continues to burn deep into the soil of Cengkareng’s fairways and greens as this winning team posted a handy gross 70 to take best nett 2, solid as ever you two…. do you guys fancy splitting up for a month or two??? to let some other pairs get their hands on the beer crates please.

Divya Ahuja, fresh from his golfing training camp in the middle east, re-united with his preferred side kick Gaurav Shirke. The two golfing buddies posted a gross 67, to take best nett 3 and a case of San Miguel, despite finishing their round just before sunset.  Gaurav tee to green played a flawless round, and if Divya does not pull his socks in the next edition, Gaurav may be forced to find himself another tee total partner to keep his beer stock levels up high and his fridge full of beers out in Cikupa, West Jakarta. When is the house party sir?

Once again, thanks again to San Miguel Indonesia for supporting the JAWS Connect Energy Charity League events this Friday. Looking forward to the seventh edition in September Sharks!
