Our second visit to the stunning Graham March designed Bogor Raya course was rewarded with some perfect weather and playing conditions. With beautiful layouts and beautiful gardens, the course proved once again to be an enchanting playground for the 15 golfers.

The first group starting on hole 10 was made up of three newcomers. Kees , Pascal, Belvi plus Chris.

Bel started well with some excellent driving and was playing well until the 14th hole where he made a triple bogey which seemed to affect his confidence.

Pascal started with a par and played well until the 14th which put a big dent on his score but played a steady back nine.

Kees didn’t start well but after some ‘liquid refreshments’, managed to transform his golf and played a very steady back nine with a 10 points improvement- amazing!

Meanwhile Chris continued with a consistent round and shot a respectful 1 under par, Net 71.

A great day out with a fantastic bunch of crazy golfers , Bobby and Aiden took to Bogor Raya like fish to water , with booming drives from Aiden and rubbing off on Bobby reproducing similar drives, it was a see- saw dance for Divya to observe and admire.

With consistent Pars , Bobby showed his class as a player and the ever improving Aiden poured magic around the greens by his chipping ( thanks to Simons tips).

The final few holes had something else in store with Divya finally finding something and carding 2 birdies in a row to end at a respectable Net 71 whilst the two magicians both came back winners with Bobby finishing 2nd and Aiden overall 3rd respectively.

Simon started well with a 300m Drive on Hole 2, followed by a flick with a sand wedge and a birdie putt, but failed to maintain consistency over 18 Holes with one too many errant drives failing to put him in position to shoot for the greens from the fairway.

Aleksi produced a colourful round and battled to find his rhythm on the front nine but persistence paid off as he reeled off a series of clutch pars on the back nine to salvage a consistent score a few strokes above handicap.

Robson’s first trip to Bogor Raya was a pleasurable one, although a little askew in terms of accuracy, his eyes sparkled in delight with the course, its landscape and its conditions and his patience was rewarded with a 40ft putt on the last hole.

Laurie enjoyed a great day out and showed signs of great ball striking from the fairways but was let down with his flat stick. A fun day with great company.

The second group starting on hole one comprised James , Sari, Imran and a welcome newcomer Heru . Only Heru managed a par but it was Imran who then began a very solid and skillful round to card a 78 gross, which even more amazingly only included a single birdie. Sari carded her lowest JAWS score , which would have been even better if it were not for four “snowmen” ( 8s for those not in the know) .

Heru improved by 11 shots on the back nine to show his real potential ,which will hopefully be seen at future JAW’s games. James was 9 over after 6 holes but managed to loosen up thereafter to record a respectable 85 ,including birdies at 11 and 14 . All other players will have benefited from watching Imran’s clever , patient and skillful round , the experience of which will be put to good use next time out.

Thank you Mba Wulan and Mba Defri and the team at Bogor Raya for a lovely day out.
Congratulations to all players. The overall winner was Imran with another impressive round of golf scoring Gross 78, Net 65.
Taking second position was Bobby with a Gross 82 Net 69 and in third place was Aiden Gross 87, Net 70.
Vouchers for Emeralda Golf Course were won by Kees and Pascal. Next game is on the 4th of June at Modern GC, see you there.
