JAWS at Sedayu Indo Golf

Social Golfing for Everyone!

Tuesday 29th March 2022

9 JAWS Sharks tee’d off at Jakarta’s hot new golfing property that everyone is talking about Sedayu Indo Golf, on the North Coast of Jakarta overlooking Jakarta Bay. As close as any Jakartaan’s will get to playing ‘Links’ style golf in Jakarta with several hole running parallel with the ocean and feeling that strong wind coming off the ocean is a refreshing experience away from our air conditioned homes, offices and malls. With Paspalam fairway grass from Florida, USA, this Jack Nicklaus Design Group golf course has the softest, spongiest fairways in Indonesia, they may even make you feel guilty taking a divot!

A pre/post round beverage in the magnificent clubhouse, ideally on the terrace overlooking the 9th and 18th holes is priceless!

The Play:

Testament to things getting back to normal with work after the pandemic, just a small group were out to brave this challenging seaside Golf Course designed by the Jack Nicklaus Design Group. Any course which such a prestigious stamp from the Golden Bear himself will be a quality course at Sedayu Indo Golf is no exception. For any JAWS Shark who is yet to give it a go, do yourself a favour, go for it, not easy but a fun experience and will challenge al parts of your game, especially your tee offs and putting.

The admins made a last minute call to play the whites and judging by the nett winning scores was the right one with some decent scores made with 4 Sharks, nearly half of the group shooting below par.

Best Nett 3 Tied Winner’ Willi G. shot a nett 71 with 2 birdies on two Par 3’s and his iron play keeps improving thanks to the swing change he is working on. Michael Muller also posted a tidy nett 71, keeping his ball in play, with good pace of play as normal and no blow outs. Solid Golf Michael.

‘Best Nett 2 Winner’ Olivier Merle had a day to remember, and was on fire! Mixing up Pars with Double Bogeys, with some extra work on his putting his score could have been ‘sub-69’ his score for the day. His HDCP of 24 will soon drop based on his long game performance and with some work on his short game, the sky is the limit, keep it up Olivier!

‘Best Nett 1 Winner’ Jim Korbilas has been clearly using his free time wisely, credit to his new swing coach and mentor at the Lotte Avenue Indoor simulator who has shared a magic move which is on repeat and working wonders for Jim who has two BN1 victories on the bounce and bounds into Fridays 2-person scramble at Jags Old Course with lots of confidence. 12/14 fairways for the round and if it weren’t for a double par on the 17th his nett 68 could have been a lot hotter! Well played Jim.

Thanks to Velissa at Sedayu Indo Golf and her team for their hospitality and long may there weekday promo continue as JAWS would love to play this seaside course on a regular basis.
