“Golf is a puzzle, without an answer.”
– Gary Player
16 JAWS players teed it up Friday for a noon tee time at the JAWS weekday Old faithful course: Cengkareng Golf Club, home of some of Jakarta’s best greens and a golf course always in great condition, chirpy caddies a great clubhouse and the legendary Mulligan’s Bistro with their famous Frozen margaritas. The perfect way to start the weekend…

Just two days after the Wednesday game at BSD the Sharks were back on course and on the fairways with four flights of JAWS society golfers enjoying some social and competitive golf on a Friday afternoon blessed with great weather.

The Play:
Willie Noronha and Fernando Gaggino were surprised themselves to get on the leader board with a pair of Nett 74s, on a day when the majority of the JAWS players struggled to play to their handicaps. Steady consistent golf kept them in contention with Fernando more then happy with his new Taylormade Stealth Driver getting some added distance from the tee box but a couple of bad holes got in the way of what should have been a low nett score on a day of very consistent ball striking. Willie was solid as ever at his home course, and shaved the hole with several close putts denying him a much lower round, with some solid play from tee to green.
JAWS Interleague Vice-Captain Chris Lever had a solid knock, a nett 70 and two under handicap, enjoying his weekday golf game with some well deserved time off from teaching. The regular formula of pars and bogeys producing a very steady round of golf as he easily bettered his handicap for the day, well played Chris.
Jeremy’s love for his home course continues to blossom shooting an impressive nett 69, 3 under handicap, 81 gross. Backing up his Best Nett 2 form Wednesday, at this rate Jeremy will be a single digit before Ramadhan next month. Course knowledge goes a long way, clearly. Keep up the solid player Jeremy!
A gentle reminder for JAWS players to get in contact with their 2022 Match-play group members, with around 6 weeks left to complete your pending fixtures in order to qualify for the knock out rounds.
The admins have made some revisions to the March playing schedule and are happy to announce another midweek visit to BSD on Wednesday the 16th of March.
Also, for all those who did not play in Rd #1 of the JAWS CONNECT ENERGY CHARITY LEAGUE at Cengkareng, Round 2 is coming up in 3 weeks at Jagorawi Old Course, on Friday 1st April, so find yourself a suitable and competitive partner, and sign them up for the season before someone else does.
